2026 UCTE National Triennial Convention
July 2026 – Edmonton, Alberta
Delegates to the 2026 UCTE National Triennial Convention will elect officers to serve a three-year term. The elections will take place during Convention proceedings in accordance with the UCTE By-Laws and Election and Campaign Procedures.
Members in good standing are invited to submit nominations for the following positions:
Positions to be Filled
- National President
- National Vice-President
- Alternate to the National Vice-President
- Human Rights Officer
- Alternate Human Rights Officer
- Regional Vice-Presidents (by Region)
- Alternate Regional Vice-Presidents (by Region)
Eligibility and Nominations
Nominations will open on May 20, 2026.
All UCTE members in good standing are eligible to be nominated for elected office. Nominees are required to be accredited Convention delegates.
Nominations must be submitted in writing using the official Nomination Form and must include the signature of a nominator and a seconder. Both the nominator and seconder must be accredited delegates at the 2026 UCTE National Triennial Convention.
Nominees must indicate their acceptance of nomination of the Nomination Form.
Eligibility and Nominations
Nominees will be invited to address Convention delegates in an “All Nominees” forum on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at 9:30 am (MDT) as part of the election proceedings. All Nomination Forms must be received by 12:00 pm (MDT) on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, to be eligible to participate in the forum.
Nominees will be granted three (3) minutes to address the Convention delegates.
Candidates not attending the 2026 UCTE National Triennial Convention may have their nominator or seconder speak on their behalf.
Nomination Deadlines
Nominations from members who are not accredited Convention delegates must be received no later than Friday, July 17, 2026, 5:00 pm (EDT).
Nominations will be accepted until Tuesday, July 21, 2026, 12:00 pm (MDT) for nominees wishing to participate in pre-Convention communications.
Nominations may also be accepted from the Convention floor during the election process, in accordance with the UCTE By-Laws.

Join Us at the Next UCTE Convention
UCTE’s National Triennial Convention acts as the supreme governing body of UCTE. It deals with resolutions and matters brought before it and establishes the general policies of the organization. During Convention, delegates vote on resolutions and elect all regional vice-presidents as well as UCTE delegates to the next PSAC Convention. The National President, National Vice-President, Alternate National Vice-President and the National Human Rights Officer are also determined during Convention.
