Most Canadians interact with public services regularly. Even so, they may be unaware of the work that goes into delivering them.
A successful interaction with a service agent on the phone is an everyday experience. Being rescued from the open ocean by the Canadian Coast Guard is definitely not. But both of these, and a thousand things in between, are experiences of quality public service.
Some of our members spend part or most of their time at a desk. Many are also in the field—crewing ships; operating infrastructure; supporting scientific research; maintaining aids to navigation; and working with transport operators on compliance with regulations that keep Canadians and our international guests safe.
It’s much more varied and colourful than you might think! We have created a series of member profiles to highlight the breadth of the work UCTE members do—keeping Canadians safe while on the airways, roads, rail, and sea.
UCTE members facilitate both tourism and commerce. They keep Canadians safe and Canada strong. Learn about our members and the myriad ways they do all this at the link above.
