UCTE would like to give a special shout out to the NAV CANADA bargaining team members who spent over two years bargaining with the employer. With the support of the membership, they stuck to their principles and refused to accept less than a fair and equitable deal. Their dedication was extraordinary and proved again that UCTE members hold steadfast to our motto: one day longer, one day stronger.
After 822 days without a contract and a long round of bargaining, PSAC-UCTE members at NAV CANADA voted in favour of the tentative agreement reached with the employer last month. This agreement brings wage increases and improvements to working conditions thanks to the hard work of our bargaining team and members across the country.
UCTE’s NAV CANADA group represents over 240 members across the country who work in administration, data processing, education, engineering and scientific support, trades, and general services.
We thank the many members who came out to vote and had their voices heard.
Next steps
In the coming weeks, the union will meet with the employer to sign the new collective agreement. Members should expect to receive their retroactive pay within 120 days of ratification of the agreement. Other new contract terms are now in effect, as of the date of ratification.
Please keep your contact details up to date to receive the latest information and make sure to sign up for PSACs newsletter. If you have any questions, please talk to a member of your bargaining team, your regional office, or your UCTE Regional Vice-President.
We thank all members for their support throughout this process.
