UCTE mourns the sudden passing of Labour Relations Officer Shawn Fields, who was a valued member of the UCTE National Office staff since 2011. We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Shawn brightened the office with his joyful wardrobe, his smile, and his love of laughter. His absence was deeply felt when he took leave for treatment, and the news of his passing has left us heartbroken. We will miss him dearly.
Shawn was a friend and admirer of sea turtles. For those wishing to honour his memory, we encourage you to consider a donation to the Canadian Sea Turtle Network.
The UCTE National office intends to compile a book of memories to celebrate Shawn’s life and the impact he had on those around him. Anyone wishing to contribute a memory or receive updates about memorial activities is invited to complete the form below.
Rest in peace, brother.
