Our members in local 90916 at St. John’s Airport (YYT) signed a new collective agreement last week. Bargaining began on September 1 and is already complete—the current CA will expire December 31, 2026.
The new CA includes several notable gains: the wage increase is 5% in 2027 and amounts to 15% over the four years of the agreement.
They negotiated increases to the shift premium, overtime meal allowance, and boot allowance. The new CA includes paid leave for pregnancy loss. Term appointments will now become indeterminate after being extended beyond two years (reduced from three years).
