UCTE National President Barry Tchir joined representatives from Unifor, IAM Canada, the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC), and the NDP caucus this morning to oppose privatization of our airports.
UCTE represents over a thousand members at YVR (Vancouver) and YYC (Calgary).
“If this plan goes ahead, your flight is going to get even more expensive,” said Heather McPherson, adding “The safety of Canadians is at risk.” Unifor and IAM Canada—representing tens of thousands more airport workers—and the CLC share our concerns about the potential impact of privatization on workers.
