May 17 is the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia.
The labour movement has long been closely tied with struggles for LGBTQ+ rights. Why? Because love and respect are for everyone, and also because it is in our interest to resist any ideas or practices that divide us, and to fight for rights, respect, and unity. This is not to ignore or erase homophobia, transphobia, and biphobia in our own movement, but to say that we are, collectively, confronting it and working on it.
May is also the beginning of Pride season. Learn and get involved in the Rainbow Week of Action in your community!
