Updates for two groups of our Treasury Board members: The PA (Programs and Administration) group includes more than 100,000 members throughout PSAC, including about four thousand UCTE members. The EB (Education and Library Science) group is over 1000 members PSAC-wide, a few dozen of these within UCTE.
The latest meetings between our bargaining teams and Treasury Board were in January. Bargaining teams for both groups declared impasse last week. PSAC has initiated the conciliation process.
In the teams’ view, the employer is not bargaining in good faith.
The teams have reminded the employer that federal law freezes working conditions during bargaining. Unilateral change without consent, like the recent four-day in-office mandate, is out of line.
PSAC has filed an unfair labour practice complaint with the Federal Public Service Labour Relations and Employment Board. Stay tuned for further developments.
