Welcoming tourists – domestic and international — means jobs and prosperity. Canada is rich in unforgettable tourism experiences some of our members play a big part.
Tourism shapes our economy, and gives us opportunities for cultural exchange, education, and for plain old fun! We have members at Parks Canada, the Canadian Coast Guard, Transport Canada, the Transportation Safety Board, Natural Resources Canada, the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, and more whose working conditions are partly shaped by tourism, and who work to keep tourists’ experiences safe, positive, and sustainable.
We operate canals and support air navigation systems. We ensure compliance with transport safety regulations, we work in ports and airports – and even on the worst days, UCTE members are there working search and rescue operations and conducting investigations in order to make things even safer in the future.
While some of the world’s beautiful places are reacting to “over-tourism,” our members are proud to see more people from all over enjoying all the experiences that tourism in Canada offers.
If you happen to see a fellow UCTE member on your travels, thank them and express your solidarity!
